Eli started crawling Friday. He just decided he was going to do it and did it. With Dylan it was the whole, get up to crawl, lunge forward, and then fall and we did that for probably a month before he crawled. Eli just waited until he knew he could do it and took off. He’s been able to move from sitting position to crawling position and vice versa for some time now, but just hadn’t actually put his legs and arms in motion. He is much happier. Although, most of the time he just crawls to where I am and lays his head down on my feet or grabs my legs hoping I’ll pick him up. Funny kid!
Dylan just had his 3rd birthday and he’s growing up so fast. It’s funny because he’s been doing this thing where he repeats stuff we say but he totally uses it in the wrong context. Like, he’ll say “My toes have to jam in them for a reason.” I guess I tell him regularly that I did something for a reason. It’s so funny!
I have decided to try and make my own baby food with Eli. I always just bought the store stuff for Dylan. With Eli I waited almost an additional 3 months before starting him on baby food. It’s not really a health issue because I think even store-bought food is pretty much just the vegetable with some water. I just think I can save a ton of money. I jar of baby food is almost $0.50. I can make 9 servings of peas for $1.25 and a little of my time. It seems easy so far. I throw whatever in the pan to steam and leave it until I think it’s ready. I occasionally go through the kitchen and stir it. Then, when it’s done I throw it in the blender with some water and then scoop it out into bowls, and freeze it.
